Watch: TV Anchor Describes Sports Trade as “Men Tracht Un Gut Lacht”

  1. It’s a horrible expression, as if G-d takes enjoyment in seeing our plans fall apart. I and my wife prefer “Men tracht ober G-t vais besser,” – Man makes plans, but G-d knows better.

    • The idea is based on: רבות מחשבות בלב איש ועצת ה’ היא תקום
A person thinks and plans but what actually happens is what Hashem wants.

  2. My father Z”L always said that it’s not proper to think that Hashem laughs at our efforts and planning. Instead, he would say: “Mentch tracht, und Gut macht” = Man thinks (and makes plans) and Hashem does (what He thinks is right)”.

  3. Very disappointed in my Dolphins, AGAIN. They just can’t seem to get their act together. They are consistently inconsistent! Tanehill turned out to be an overrated stiff. Brock Osweiler is a lot better, but that’s not saying much. If I were still alive, I would come out of retirement to help Miami get back to the Superbowl.
