Watch: Rav Michoel Sorotzkin On the Name “Yehoshua Ben Nun”

The following is a shiur delivered by Rav Michoel Sorotzkin about the name “Yehoshua Ben Nun” upon Yehoshua Bin Nun’s yahrtzeit today.

  1. The first half about Bat Sheva is even more fascinating than the part about Yehoshua which is simply great.
The Rav is one of a kind. Please post more.

  2. Where could you hear Rav Sorotzkin live? HIS SHIURIM ARE UNBELIEVABLE.
I would love to attend a shiur or a drosho? I am in NY.
If anyone has details, please post.

    • I had the merit to be in Crete for Pessach where he said shiurim and droshos. It’s the first Pessach in my life that I had a meaningful yomtov. His shiurim where simply unreal. Everyone who was present felt electrified. He is a gifted talmid chochom and has a unique way to say the deepest shiur with such clarity that EVERYONE understood.

  3. Generally : most of his shuirim are delivered in Eretz Yisroel in his kollel in Kiryat Telzstone. Very often, he is invited to speak in public affairsor special occasions in Israel, Europe and USA.
You just have to be lucky and hear him when and where he speaks.

  4. The Ramban is a big chiddush. To say that BINUN is one word and that is the reason for not mentioning Ben-Nun in the entire Torah is certainly not the regular pshat. We see that in Parshas Hameraglim where it mentions all the meraglim and their father’s name, Yehoshua also appears as Bin Nun.

In any case the speaker is a gifted and brilliant orator and he is a real pleasure to listem to.
Matzav- keep up the good work.

  5. Where is this Shiur said? A friend told me in London. How can one find out where the Rav is speaking live next? I would love to attend. If anyone knows about future shiurim of if there is a link with the info please publicize le’toelet hatzibur.

  6. Just finished listening to another fantastic shiur by Rav Sorozkin. Here is the link. Enjoy.
Watch “How to read Sefer Shemos. A spectacular Shiur by Horav Michoel Sorotzkin : סדר ספר שמות” on YouTube

  7. Does he ever speak in Hebrew? Someone said his mama-loshen is Hebrew. Listening to his English Shiurim it doesn’t seem to be the case. He is a Yankee.

  8. I’m suffering from a terminal illness and I can’t sleep at night. Its hard for me to learn in my condition and the only thing that keep me going is audio and video shiurim. A friend sent me the link to your site featuring this outstanding shiur and I must say I enjoyed it immensely. It gave me such spiritual stimulation and chizuk that I forgot about my pains during the shiur.
I googled myself for Rav Sorotskins additional shiurim and I found a real treasure. My hakoras hatov to your site for introducing me to this source of joy and easement from pain.
