President Trump said Saturday he will be sending the presidential aircraft to pick up George H.W. Bush’s casket from Texas and bring it to Washington, where the late president will lie in state in the Capitol starting Monday.

“Air Force One will be taking myself and a large group of our people back to Washington. It will then be reset and it will be sent to Houston to pick up the casket of President Bush and then be brought back to Washington,” Trump said at the G-20 summit in Buenos Aires.

“We’ll be sending Air Force One, which is a special tribute that he deserves very much and it’s my honor, and again, he’ll be greatly missed. Terrific person, terrific man,” Trump added.

  1. It’s standard protocol for Air Force One to transport the caskets of former presidents to and from the various locations of their memorial services. It is a courtesy and honor given to them in recognition of their service to the country.

  2. He was a great president. I thought all the anti Semitic talk about him was highly unfair. The way he built the coalition for the first gulf war was brilliant. The only bloch on his Israel record was the loan guarantees. I didn’t blame him for it. Then everyone blamed the recession on him. Also unfair.
