Trump: ‘People Are Fleeing New York State’ Over High Taxes


President Trump on Monday said that people are “fleeing” New York, slamming his home state’s leadership for its tax policies and legal battles with the National Rifle Association (NRA).

“People are fleeing New York State because of high taxes and yes, even oppression of sorts,” Trump tweeted shortly after claiming the NRA was “under siege” from New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) and state Attorney General Letitia James (D).

New York state has seen its population decline in recent years. U.S. Census Bureau data released in December found the Empire State lost 48,510 residents between July 1, 2017, and July 1, 2018, more than any other state in that time frame.

  1. The President is 100% correct. New Yorkers keep electing DemocRAT after DemocRAT. Must be the ocean breeze that makes people soooooooo Stupid.

    • I grew up near the ocean and nope, stupid people don’t become that way from the ocean breeze. They become stupid from continually believing that the same actions over and over will eventually work out. Yes, Baseball’s Hall of Fame will elect you with a success rate between 30 and 40% when you’re a hitter – can you pass elementary school with that? Followers, people lacking critical thinking, lemmings are the reason NYS has been in a hole so long. Throw in the unions, who paved the way for getting paid without working (not Gompers or Lewis original reason for bringing unions into existence) We is Rome.
