Trump: Election Hacking ‘Could’ve Been China’

President Donald Trump suggested today that China could have been behind the series of cyberattacks that plagued last year’s election.

“If you don’t catch a hacker, okay, in the act, it’s very hard to say who did the hacking. With that being said, I’ll go along with Russia,” Trump said in an interview on CBS’ Face the Nation. “Could’ve been China, could’ve been a lot of different groups.”

U.S. intelligence agencies have concluded that Russia was behind a massive influence campaign to help elect Trump and tear down Hillary Clinton. Trump said he is not “ambivalent” on the issue, but added that “we have to find out what happened.” He also declared that the hacking had “nothing to do with us.” The FBI is probing whether Trump officials colluded with Russians to tip the election in his favor. Read more at CBS NEWS.
