Rav Steinman Released from the Hospital

After ten days of hospitalization at the intensive care unit at the Maayanei Hayeshuah Hospital in Bnei Brak, Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman has been released this afternoon to his home at 5 Rechov Chazon Ish in Bnei Brak.

After lengthy discussions between the team of physicians tasked with the rosh yeshiva’s medical care, it was decided to release the rosh yeshiva.

Despite the good news, the doctors said in a statement that the public is still called on to daven for the complete recovery of Rav Shteinman, who remains very weak.

Rabbi Yaakov Rosenstein, a close associate of Rav Shteinman, said, “Today, we have to give thanks to the Ribono Shel Olam that our prayers have been answered and that there has been considerable improvement in the health status of the rosh yeshiva, who will receive further treatment at his home. Klal Yisroel is thankful to the entire medical staff at Maayanei Hayeshuah for their exceptional care of the rosh yeshiva.”

Rabbi Rosenstein specifically thanked the hospital CEO, Rabbi Shlomo Rothschild, Medical Director Dr. Motti Raavid, ICU Director Dr. Sorkin, and Rav Shteinman’s personal physician, Dr. Avrohom Weinberg.

As Matzav.com has reported for the last week and a half, last Sunday, the 103-year-old rosh yeshiva was hospitalized for pneumonia and general weakness. His condition fluctuated throughout his hospital stay, but he made improvement since Shabbos, leading to the decision to have him return home to convalesce there.

Rav Shteinman’s schedule will be curtailed for the near future due to his overall frailty.

All are asked to continue davening for Rav Aharon Yehudah Leib ben Gittel Faiga.
