Obama: Crimea Vote Illegal


obamaThis afternoon, President Obama called a vote in the Crimean parliament to join Russia and put the issue to voters a violation of Ukraine’s constitution and international law.

Obama said the international community is unified in its opposition to actions by Russia in Crimea, pointing to sanctions announced Thursday morning by the State Department, as well as actions by the European Union. The president also said international monitors should be let into all of Ukraine, including Crimea.

So long as Russia honors agreements and international law, it should be able to keep its naval basing rights, Obama said. Read more at WhiteHouse.gov.

  1. He not only thinks he is king of America, but he wants to be king of the Universe. Unfortunately he is a king without clothes and as he is declaring this everyone is laughing, for the king has no clothes.

  3. For the sake of America, we need a do-over of the 2012 Presidential election, in which the IRS is not terrorizing conservative groups.
