Netanyahu Cuts US Trip Short, Faces Political Backlash Over Gaza Rocket Attack


Prime and defense minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to cut short his US trip and cancel his AIPAC speech on Monday, after a rocket from Gaza hit central Israel.

“There was a criminal attack on the state of Israel, and we will respond with force,” the prime minister told the press in a video statement.

“In light of the security events, I decided to shorten my visit to the US. In a few hours, I will meet with president Trump, and immediately return to Israel to conduct our operations closely,” Netanyahu added.
