NBC/WSJ Poll: Ben Carson New Front-Runner; Takes 6-Point Lead Over Trump


GOP Presidential Candidate Ben Carson Campaigns In Colorado Day After Party's Third DebateBen Carson is the new leader in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, pulling ahead of longtime front-runner Donald Trump by six points, the NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll reports.

It’s the first time since June that Trump did not hold the top spot in the survey.

Here are the results:

Ben Carson: 29 percent
Donald Trump: 23 percent
Marco Rubio: 11 percent
Ted Cruz: 10 percent
Jeb Bush: 8 percent

All other candidates have less than 3 percent support.

The poll was conducted October 25-29 and has a margin of error of plus-or-minus 4.9 percent.

Other recent polls have put Carson in front of Trump. The most recent CBS/New York Times poll also has Carson leading nationally 26 percent to 22 percent. And Carson is leading in Iowa, where the first caucuses will be held.
