Samuel Willenberg, the last known survivor of the Nazi death camp Treblinka, died on Erev Shabbos. He was 93.
Willenberg managed to escape Treblinka, which is a notorious example of the Nazi’s efforts to exterminate Europe’s Jews as unlike other camps, its prisoners were not forced to labor. Most were killed upon arrival.
