Israel Pays $20M In Compensation To Families Of Mavi Marmara Victims

The Turkish government has delivered the necessary compensation to the families of the victims of Israel’s 2010 raid on the Mavi Marmara flotilla, Finance Minister Naci Ağbal said on June 23, after controversy over delayed payments.

“Compensation payments have been made to the families of citizens who lost their lives in the attack on the Mavi Marmara ship,” state-run Anadolu Agency quoted Ağbal as saying.

The government-friendly Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief (İHH) group, which had been involved in the organization of the Gaza-bound flotilla, criticizing the government for not paying compensation amounting to $20 million. The money had been provided by Israel over the killing of Turkish activists aboard the Mavi Marmara ship in May 2010. Read more here.

  1. Stupid. This terrible capitulation comes from weakness, not strength. Israel has no backbone. The surrounding Nations realize this and take advantage of them. No Torah, no brains. Pheh.

  2. Olam hafuch!!! T h e y started up with Israel, and Israel has to “compensate” them with an insane amount of money. What kind of idiots demanded this, and what bigger idiots actually agreed to take the money out of Israel’s own crucial needs to give it to anti-Semites. This is so warped I can barely find words to express my indignation.

  3. When you have an atheist government that puts more importance in gay rights than in morality, this comes as no surprise. The evil corruption stinks to high heaven. This is why Daas Torah is very concerned about forcing Bnei Torah into the cesspool called the IDF.

  4. Look at the reality of a public experience. There is always ongoing dialogue. Israel is in its working worried day. This is a sad experience but the sad talk may not continue as bad. Lets move to tomorrow.

  5. There is a lot more to this compensation payout than meets the eye. The Israeli Government had a lot more to gain by paying the money than not. This was one of the main sticking points with the Turkish Government in reestablishing relations with Israel. Now that relations are more normalized, this will lead to many lucrative deals, worth much more than $20 million. Israel will do what is in their best interest.

    • It’s not all about money and lucrative deals. What price tag would you put on Jewish lives lost due to the islamonazis perceiving Israel as a weak entity that can be attacked with impunity?!
