IDF Bombs Hamas Police Station After Rocket Attacks

30199Israel Air Force F-16 planes strafed two Hamas terrorist positions, including a police station, in Khan Yunis in south-central Gaza, early this morning, in the pre-dawn hours. No injuries were reported, but the targets sustained damage. The retaliation was a continuation of the government’s tit-for-tat policy to strike back at pinpointed targets every time terrorists in Gaza attack Israel. Two Kassam rockets hit Israel yesterday, one of them striking at the southern edge of the port city of Ashkelon. It slammed into an open area and caused no damage.

Earlier in the day, a Kassam rocket exploded at Kibbutz Nir Am, causing widespread damage to several parked vehicles. No one was wounded.

Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman Tzachi HaNegbi (Kadima) last week criticized the military strikes as being ineffective. “They are punching holes in the sand” and causing little damage to the terrorist infrastructure, he explained.

Foreign media have reported that smuggling tunnels that previously have been targeted are used for bringing goods and merchandise into Gaza while terrorist tunnels are deep underground and remain untouched.
