Homeland Security Inspector General to Review Trump Ban Rollout


The Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general will review the implementation of President Trump’s immigration ban, which caused mass chaos at airports all over the U.S. last weekend.

The department announced late Wednesday that the review comes after complaints from citizens and members of Congress alike. Thousands of Americans protested at airports on Saturday and Sunday over the detention of refugees, in addition to valid U.S. visa-holders from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Sudan, Syria, Somalia, and Yemen. Four federal judges issued stays on various components of the executive order to demand that refugees in transit be released and allowed to stay in the U.S. instead of being forced to return to their countries of origin.
