Egypt Names Mubarak Adviser New PM


ibrahim-mehlib-egyptEgypt’s president announced today that a new prime minister had been selected, one day after Hazem el-Beblawi stepped down for undisclosed reasons.

Ibrahim Mehlib, who served in the ruling party of former President Hosni Mubarak and headed a state-owned construction company, will be the new prime minister.

The recent shakeups in Cairo all seem to suggest that Field Marshal Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi, the head of the military, will soon be making a presidential run. Read more at The New York Times.
