At least 25 Palestinians were injured by IDF gunfire at a protest along the border in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, the Gaza health ministry said.
The Monday protests were added to Gazan’s schedule of weekly events in addition to the Friday demonstrations back in July. The protests have generally been tamer than the Friday protests which have often turned deadly.
An Israeli army spokesperson said on Monday that 750 Palestinians took part in “clashes” near the border and threw stones towards soldiers who responded “by using anti-riot measures and firing in line with standard operational procedures”.
