House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Sunday that President Trump engages in racism “constantly.”
“He’s afraid of the women who are going to be coming into Congress,” Pelosi said. “He talks about there’s no place for racism and then he speaks that way, it’s really disgraceful.”
Pelosi also referenced Trump’s tweet ahead of the first anniversary of the violent white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, in which he said he condemns “all types of racism.”
“He likes to make some statement in his tweet about no place for racism, and engages in it constantly,” she said. “It’s shameful.”
President Trump mocked the Democratic leader in a tweet Friday, calling her a “wonderful person whose ideas & policies may be bad, but who should definitely be given a 4th chance.”
