A gunman was killed on Thursday night after police say he opened fire in an Alabama mall full of early Black Friday shoppers, injuring two people.
The incident began with a physical altercation between an 18-year-old and the 21-year-old at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover, a large suburb near Birmingham, CNN reported on Friday.
The older man pulled a gun and shot the man he was fighting, injuring him. A second person, a 12 year old girl, was also shot in the melee. A police officer then confronted the gunman as he ran away and fatally shot him. That officer has been placed on administrative leave while the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigates.
