Airbnb To Remove Listings In Israeli West Bank Settlements, Taking Sides In The Middle East Conflict

Home-share company Airbnb Inc said Monday they would be removing listings in Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

“We concluded that we should remove listings in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank that are at the core of the dispute between Israelis and Palestinians” the company announced in a statement.

“As a global platform operating in 191 countries and regions and more than 81,000 cities, we must consider the impact we have and act responsibly”Airbnb added to explain the decision. Airbnb came under fire in 2016 for renting rooms in West Bank settlements that were listed as being located within Israel.

The “question” of whether or not Israel should maintain sovereignty over the West Bank doesn’t question the irrefutable fact that the Jewish people who bought their homes in the West Bank legally own them. By Airbnb not allowing Jewish people to rent out their home that they legally own, they are agreeing with the blatantly anti-Semitic Palestinian demand that no Jew should be allowed to reside in any area under future Palestinian sovereignty.
