200 Year Old Jamaican Kesuba Goes Up For Auction

A  kesubah, from 1884 made for a couple married in Kingston, Jamaica will be auctioned as part of a sale of “Important Judaica”.

The Sotheby’s catalogue calls the item “An Exceedingly Rare Ketubah from Kingston, Jamaica, 1884.” It is estimated to sell for $8,000 to $12,000 in Wednesday’s auction.

  1. This report must of been put out by one of those Licha Dodi masmedim who suddenly become tremendous Tzaddikim instead of helping the chazzan sing a nice tune. These same phonies, you would never catch them with a Sefer any other time of day or night. Works like magic. As soon as the Chassan hits Licha Dodi, it’s arayngiton in lernin. Pheh!
