18 Freed In Shalit Deal To Return To West Bank


terrorists-return-home-13Twelve months after the deal that released IDF soldier Gilad Shalit, 18 of the Palestinian prisoners involved in the exchange are being allowed to return to the West Bank, the Shin Bet confirmed yesterday, stating  that the men had been deported to the Gaza Strip and “elsewhere abroad” after the release of Shalit last October.

These men will be in the West Bank in the coming days.

The agreement to return them to the West Bank after a year was part of the original prisoner-exchange deal brokered by Egypt, in which Israel released 1,027 prisoners. Read more here.
