While security is in place and there is no specific, credible threat, a quirk in America’s rules for succession raises questions about who would be in charge if an attack hit the incoming president, vice president and congressional leaders just as the transfer of power gets underway.   1. Such a weird subject to bring up. I don’t recall it ever being an issue of discussion on other inauguration of past presidents. It seems almost like someone is preparing for such an actuality-or maybe fanticizing for such an actuality to happen.

    • It’s a cute news item. I’ve seen it mentioned in almost every inauguration. Thank G-d, the custom has never been needed to be used.
