Sanafi al-Nasr, a Saudi citizen whose full name was Abdul Mohsen Abdallah, organized routes for new recruits traveling from Pakistan to Syria through Turkey and was one of al Qaeda’s leading financiers, the Pentagon said.
American officials told the New York Times THAT al-Nasr was killed in a drone strike. The militant leader worked for al Qaeda’s Iran-based network before taking the lead on the terror group’s finances in 2012 and moving to Syria in 2013, the statement said.
