Turkey Shoots Down Syrian Jet

erdogan-turkeyTurkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today that his country’s armed forces shot down a Syrian military jet that violated Turkish airspace.

The incident happened in an area where the Syrian government has been at war with rebel groups over control of a border crossing.

“Our response will be heavy if you violate our airspace,” Erdogan told Syria. More than 100,000 people have been killed in the Syrian civil war. Read more at BBC News.
