While the political establishment in Israel debated the attempts to reach a ceasefire with Hamas, six soldiers were injured from mortar fire inside the Gaza Strip tonight. Two were in moderate condition and four sustained light injuries. They were evacuated to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon and Sheba Hospital in Tel HaShomer.
A round of rockets was fired toward the greater Tel Aviv area at approximately 10:10pm when one of the intruding missiles was shot down by the Iron Dome missile defense system over Holon.
Nine rockets were also fired on Be’er Sheva at around 9:30 pm. Iron Dome intercepted four of the Gaza rockets, while the rest fell in open areas.
Gaza terrorists previously fired rockets on the Jerusalem Hills and the West Bank at 8 pm. The Iron Dome missile defense battery intercepted one rocket over the skies of Yerushalayim. The military wing of Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for firing “two rockets towards Jerusalem.”
Earlier, at 7 pm, a rocket was launched on Sdot Negev Regional Council and landed in an open area. Minutes later, four sirens sounded in Hof Ashkelon – four rockets reportedly fell short in Gazan territory.
From around 1 pm to 3 pm, over 10 rockets were fired at Israel, with one failing to cross the border and falling in Gaza.
Shortly before 2:30 pm, two rocket fell in Sderot, a little earlier another rocket fired from Gaza exploded inside the Strip.
At around 1:30 pm, two rockets fell outside an Eshkol Regional Council community, and two additional rockets fell in the area roughly 45 minutes later.
At around 11 am Tuesday morning at least four rockets were fired at southern Israel, with two falling in the Eshkol Regional Council while two were intercepted over Ashkelon.
