Panetta: No U.S. Troops in Syria If Chemical Weapons Used

secretary-of-defense-leon-panettaNo U.S. ground troops will be sent to Syria to secure chemical weapons if the Syrian regime falls, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Thursday. “We’re not working on options that involve boots on the ground.”

He said the greater challenge is deciding what steps the international community can take to ensure those weapons do not fall into the wrong hands.

Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, said, “The act of preventing the use of chemical weapons would be almost unachievable.”

  1. this is ludicris.

the US is saying… lets put it like this, the police stood by while the bank robber stood on the corner announcing he was going to rob the bank and take hostages. the police did nothing until after the bank robber had the hostages. Then said stopping the robbery “would be almost unachievable”… duh

if you are notified of bad intentions and you call yourself the moral “compus” (check the latin) for the world, then sitting on your hands while the situation deteriorates makes one complicit in the crime.

remember B’nei Esav is the criminal, B’nei Yishmael are just our stupid cousins and the zionist, well they just might be the evil underbelly of B’nei Esav. have we not been fooled before?

  2. PLEASE get your headline in order. He didn’t say if “chemical weapons were used.” He talked about “securing chemical weapons if the regime falls.” If chemical weapons would be used that would be considered a crime against humanity, and you would see a lot more people getting involved than just the US. We aren’t the world’s top cop any more.
