Obama: We Lack ‘Common Sense’ Gun Laws

obamaPresident Barack Obama expressed his frustrations over a lack of sufficient “common-sense gun-safety laws” in the United States during a BBC News interview published Thursday, the same day a gunman opened fire on a Louisiana theater and killed three people.

Obama said he’s felt “most frustrated” and “most stymied” over the nation’s failure to enact gun-safety laws during his presidency.

“If you look at the number of Americans killed since 9/11 by terrorism, it’s less than 100,” he said. “If you look at the number that have been killed by gun violence, it’s in the tens of thousands.”

The interview was filmed before the shooting in Lafayette, where three people, including the gunmen, were killed. Several others were injured. Read more at BBC News.
