Obama Dumps Waldorf Over Spy Fears


waldorf astoria nycPresident Obama won’t stay at the Chinese-owned Waldorf-Astoria during his next trip to New York because of concerns about spying, officials told the AP Friday morning.

Instead, he will stay at the South Korean-owned New York Palace Hotel.

“We constantly re-evaluate venues to take into account changing circumstances,” a State Department spokesman said. “In making our decision, we considered numerous factors, including space, cost, the needs of the United States government, and any possible security concerns.” Read more.
