[Letters below.] Lakewood, NJ – Almost two dozen heads of local mosdos have issued endorsements of three candidates in the upcoming Board of Ed elections in Lakewood. The endorsements of Yisrael Friedman, Zecharia Greenspan and Tracey Tift come as eleven candidates – including eight frum Yidden – vie for three seats on the nine-member school board.
The other candidates are Boruch Blaustein, Boruch Mandel, Bill Hobday, Shuie Schmuckler, Larry Avrin, Larry Loigman, and Avraham Ostreicher.
Tift and Ostreicher are current members seeking reelection. Board member Ada Gonzalez is not seeking reelection.
The school board elections will take place on April 27, Tuesday, Isru Chag.
The endorsement of Friedman, Greenspan and Tift was made by Rabbi Gad Mayer Censor, Rabbi Mordechai Cohen, Rabbi Yedidya Einhorn, Rabbi Yisroel Gelbwachs, Rabbi Pesach Moshe Grossman, Rabbi Boruch Ber Grozovsky, Rabbi Yossi Herskovits, Rabbi Meir Hertz, Rabbi Zevi Hess, Rabbi Yisroel Horowitz, Rabbi Osher Lederer, Rabbi Nochum Londinski, Rabbi Yanky Mandelbaum, Rabbi Yosef Notis, Rabbi Yaakov Philip, Rabbi Mendel Rabinowitz, Rabbi Yitzchok Osher Roszansky, Rabbi Yonason Sanders, Rabbi Heshy Schwartz, Rabbi Yisroel Schenkolewski, Rabbi Menachem Spiegel and Rabbi Ephraim Weiderman.
The four roshei yeshiva of Beth Medrash Govoha, Rav Malkiel Kotler, Rav Dovid Schustal, Rav Yeruchem Olshin and Rav Yisroel Neuman, have signed a letter encouraging people to follow the above endorsements.
