Iran Attacking Jihadists in Iraq

iranIran has deployed two battalions of the Quds Forces, an elite overseas branch of its Revolutionary Guard Corps, to fight the jihadists that have overrun several Iraqi cities.

Iran, a Shiite state, is throwing its weight behind Baghdad’s Shiite prime minister in the fight against ISIS, a Sunni group. Together, the Iraqi-Iranian forces have taken back control of 85 percent of Tikrit, the birthplace of Saddam Hussein.

Iran has also promised to bomb rebel forces if they come within 100 kilometers of the Iran-Iraq border. Read more at International Business Times.
