The Yerushalayim Religious Council has signed an agreement with the Daniel Company that won a tender to supply the city’s kashrus services and to hire its mashgichim. This was a culmination of the strategy of Yerushalayim Chief Rabbi Rav Aryeh Stern to halt the existing system in which eateries employ mashgichim and pay their salaries, leading to an inevitable conflict of interests.
At the meeting were representatives of the Bodek Kashrus system. They presented a software program that prevents fraud and error by providing up to date information about hashgochos to customers by scanning code letters printed on restaurants and shops’ kashrus certificates.
