Charles Krauthammer isn’t buying into the Hillary Clinton coronation just yet.
The Fox News contributor on Thursday evening said Democrats overrate her popularity and that her time serving as secretary of State will not help her in a potential 2016 presidential run.
“I think the Democrats grossly overestimate how popular Hillary is,” Krauthammer told Bill O’Reilly on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor.” “She may be popular with some of them, she may be popular with a lot of them. But they assume it’s going to apply to the country. I think not.”
When O’Reilly noted that Clinton has performed well in recent polls, Krauthammer said she hasn’t yet been tested and that her tenure at the State Department will be tough to overcome.
When Clinton is asked to name a single achievement from her time in the Obama administration, he said, she “stumbles around with no answer. And you know what she says in the end? ‘It will be said that I passed the baton.’ Now, I’ve never been to the Track and Field Hall of Fame, but I can assure you that there is not a single plaque that reads, ‘He passed the baton.'”
