Baltimore – One of two brothers on trial in the beating of a Baltimore teenager jumped out of his seat during court proceedings this morning to render aid to a courtroom observer who passed out.
WBAL-TV 11 News reporter Lowell Melser tweeted shortly after 10:30 a.m. that an observer in the courtroom passed out.
“As soon as she passed out, Avi Werdesheim jumped up out of his seat to render aid,” Melser tweeted.
The woman was okay when she left the courtroom with emergency workers.
Werdesheim, and his brother Eli, are accused of beating a teenager while on a neighborhood watch patrol in the 3200 block of Fallstaff Road on Nov. 19, 2010.
Last month, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Pamela White granted the defense’s request for a bench trial and is hearing the case.
